Ambassador News for March

What can you do with a spare £22 per month? (Just 73p per day)

Have you noticed how easy it is to spend £20 with absolutely no idea of what you spent it on? You go out with 50little or no intention of buying anything and then suddenly realise… its gone. I am constantly travelling to London to deliver training and I am amazed at how easy it is to spend money without realising what I’ve spent it on; a sandwich here, a coffee there (and I’m not a big coffee drinker). Before I know it over a day or two and not including any main meals, £20 has disappeared… just like that!

Now £20 might not seem like a lot of money but what good could it do with some conscious planning?

20 pWell, for £22 per month a child could be sponsored through PaP. That child could receive regular meals, basic medical care and access to an education as well as perhaps an annual holiday away at camp, outings in the community, and Christmas and birthday celebrations. More importantly, that child would be given hope for the future. For the cost of a few items we can’t even remember, a child, possibly orphaned, abandoned or simply forgotten, could have their life turned around and filled with joy…2p

This thought has caused me to pause and consider what more I could be doing in a purposeful way whilst acknowledging my need to be more mindful with money.

I believe these thoughts occur to remind us how fortunate we are, even when we are going through challenging times. We have roofs over our heads, food on the table and people to keep us safe; things never to be taken for granted.

1pEveryday we have an opportunity to do a little more, not because we have to but because we want to; because we are committed to. And that is one of the things I love about being part of the BaP community, being amongst the kind of people who see beyond themselves, who see the value of creating brighter futures for others.

Have a blissful month ahead,
YvonneB
