What could a young 16 year old possibly offer your business? Are they simply a cost to your organisation offering little in return, or could they surprise you, as many have done through work placements from the Bath Studio School? Sponsored by Sky TV, last year students appeared as interviewers on Bristol West TV news, Alistair Campbell had the priviledge of being interviewed at the state-of-the art-school where political debates were also held ahead of the election.
Many local employers have found that young students can bring fresh ideas, new skills, a new culture, new ambition and insight from a computer generation that many of us are designing our products and services for.
At the Bath Studio School, work experience at the age of 16 is of paramount importance and many of the placements offered to students last year have turned into employment already, making future employment much easier for these young people. This is great CSR working in practice.
