New volunteers join the team

We are delighted to introduce three new volunteers, who in joining us, make up a dynamic team who will help to drive the charity forward.

Alistair Steadman – Alistair joined People against Poverty as a volunteer in October 2017. He has a background in I.T. and has helped many charities to select and implement fundraising systems as well as make the most of new technology. He is currently helping us to prepare for the change in data protection legislation that comes into effect in May 2018. Projects like this take time and resources away from the charity so Alistair’s contribution is proving invaluable. Alistair will be helping to drive the Business against Poverty brand further as we prepare a new strategy for the next 5 years.

Liz Ludlow – Liz joined the team as an apprentice and delivers everyday administration support to the office. Liz is passionate about social change and social justice. Before joining us, Liz worked for the enterprise Global Seesaw, working to create opportunities for female victims of exploitation in India. Previous to this she spent 8 years working in Argentina on a community development project. This also involved teaching art and English and translating for international medical teams.

Adele Matterface – Freelance Writer – Adele is a recent English Literature and Creative Writing graduate and Trowbridge based writer who joined the charity in mid-August. She discovered People/Business Against Poverty whilst looking for voluntary work to expand her existing writing portfolio. She chose the charity because she found our ethics and the real changes we make to the lives of vulnerable people impressive. She is looking forward to working on our newsletters and playing a part in raising awareness of the charities many projects.
