Our Business against Poverty member showcase this month is Jules English of Triangle Design who work with famous brands such as Lego, Toys R Us, Chicco alongside many other household names.
Jules and her team have recently worked hard on producing our newest project leaflet for our Family Partnership programme and have achieved a great product showcasing an actual case study of a family who we have been working with for the past few years in a succinct and fun animation format. You can see the work here.
Alongside this Jules and her family have personally donated to our Sanctuary House build in Romania for a family whom she met when visiting the project in Romania with Val Huxley, the CEO of our registered charity People against Poverty who were living in dreadful and undesirable circumstances. Watch our video of the house build which was completed by a team from our members, The Big Picture Charity Films, in just 4 days. We have nicknamed the house The Big Triangle!
Jules motivation is to make the most of life and be a positive influencer! To grab every day with gusto and fill it with achievement – whether that is work, home chores, cycling or spending time with friends and family. With this outlook on personal and business life the business goes from strength to strength. Triangle has a strong business philosophy and one of those is to go the extra mile. Always taking pride in their work and going that extra mile. Their quality control is very high and they understand you are often only remembered for your last job! Also be nimble with strong foundations. Their infrastructure is set up so that they can double in capacity almost overnight – keeping things sensible during less busy times. Employing good people and looking after them and having a financial strategy of having enough cash reserves for 12 months trading. Ensuring a life/work balance – They believe it is vitally important for everyone on the team to have quality time with their families. With this in mind they try to work smart and hard during the week to avoid weekend working. They understand that the pressure can sometimes be intense – working together and having a positive attitude is key to this. Team members get to nominate another team member for the monthly positive team member award. The winner receives a gift to be spent on a treat for themselves or something special for their families.
And finally Giving: Triangle are big believers in businesses using their influence to make a positive difference. Team Triangle commit to 1% of their turnover to charitable causes to help people get out of poverty. Business against Poverty is one of the four charities which benefit from this commitment of which we are extremely grateful and humbled. Jules has experienced for herself that the work that gets achieved with the funds given to Business against Poverty are just incredible. Jules comments “You will see real people’s lives changed – unlike many charities you and your team can actually see the work carried out on the ground. With Business Against Poverty – a little goes a long way. You would also be joining forces with other like-minded business leaders who are using their influence for good. If you want to make a positive difference joining Business against Poverty is one way that just makes sense!”
