Member of the Month – September 2015

We would like to congratulate Melksham Tandoori on becoming our Member of the Month for September.

Mynah and his team have been supporting the charity as members and also allowed us to use the whole restaurant to hold our Quiz and Curry evenings for the last few years.  This has amounted to an incredible donation from the restaurant each year and already for 2015 has raised £711.00.  We expect that by our final Quiz and Curry for 2015 we will have reached the £1,000.

Mynah offers all Business against Poverty members a discount when they visit the restaurant so please remember to say who you are.

For a little taster of what they provide take a look at their video here

We asked Sayeed:

What motivates you? My motivation is my family, not just here in England but also in Bangladesh. In our culture it is imbedded we help and support one another out, over the years my family have pushed me and that motivates me to keep pushing forward.

What is your business philosophy?  Our business philosophy is to provide a welcoming atmosphere where diners can relax and enjoy first class Indian cuisine made from the freshest and locally produced ingredients.

Who do you admire the most? My dad Mayna opened the Melksham Tandoori in 1984, he had not long been settled in the UK but he took a chance. Over the years there have been many occasions where he took chances some paid off and others not so much however he never gives in. He has always been very ambitious and determined even to this day when he should be trying to make more time for himself to enjoy the life he worked so hard for.

What would be your advice to anyone wondering if their business could benefit from joining Business against Poverty? There are many diverse businesses that are involved with the charity and the opportunity to network with each other is huge and exciting.  We are all from different parts of the business sector however we all have one common goal when it comes to Business against Poverty.
